Only problem is I can't remember which wire is supposed to be connected where: I was thinking maybe someone could set the record straight. Generator: The generator has one large wire and one small wire... one bottom terminal and one top terminal. Which wire goes where? Distributor and Coil I plain and simple can't remember how to wire up the coil and distributor. I believe a wire should go from the top exposed terminal of the coil to the distributor, however I am not sure where the wire I am holding goes. If anyone can explain what I need for this system to run I would appreciate it. Thanks, Dan

I can't see which terminal on the generator that is, but I believe it's the upper one. Look into the open back end of the generator, and figure out which one of those terminals is connected to the insulated brush. Connect the large wire to that one. The other wire is the "field" lead, and both of them connect to the corresponding terminals on the regulator. The third terminal on the regulator is the "Battery" wire. It's hot all the time, and it connects to one side of the ammeter, the same one that is connected to the ignition switch, light switch, etc. The other side of the ammeter connects to the big battery cable terminal at the starter.
On the coil, the only terminal that's accessible connects to the distributor. The wire under the armorflex cable goes to the terminal on the ignition switch that's hot with the key turned on. Jerry
