The back of my cap is gunky looking also. What do I need to do? | | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 9,671 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 9,671 | Find out where your leaking oil into the coolant. If your seeing a kind of brown frothy looking goo in the coolant then you will probably be seeing the same thing in the oil. I'd look for a leaky head gasket first off.

Coolant in the combustion chambers would yield white smoke from the exhaust, as well as a "sweet" smell due to the antifreeze being burned off. You may also experience loss of power and coolant loss depending on the severity of the head gaskets condition. Another thing you can do is have it checked on a scope, by a mechanic, for really HIGH hydrocarbon emissions. | | |
