I guess as long as the holes are the same size and in the same spot? I was going to order the rose tan replacement for 40-46, but I think the chrome would look better.

I thought maybe the mounting posts would be in the same positions, because maybe the ash trays were the same? I'm hoping that's the case because I'd rather use the chrome.

Then I guess GM would have had no reason to make the knobs interchangable, since they changed the ash tray design anyway. I'd order one anyway, just to try it but lately everything I've been ordering on a hunch that it might fit has turned out to be a waste of time and money. I guess I could get the tan rose one and just paint it black. The chrome would have looked so cool though.
