Has anyone used the Speedway 1955-59 Chevy Pickup Duel Master Cylinder Adapter?

http://www.speedwaymotors.com/1955-59-Chevy-Pickup

How much work is to install and add the needed brake lines to split the front and rear brake lines? Did you wind up needing to add a brake balancer? Would like to make this mod but I am in the middle of a major house remodel and can not get stuck spending days or weeks with my truck off the road if it is a complicated swap.

Thanks for any help

The MC will be easy. The new front hard lines will be more difficult. IIRC the stock setup has a tee at the MC. One branch goes to the LF, the other goes to another tee that feeds the RF and rear. You'll need to separate the tees and "rewire" it so that a line from the back of the MC goes to the rears, and a line from the front of the MC tees to feed the fronts.

If you're currently trusting the lives of your riders and yourself to 50+ year old hardlines and flex lines, now is a good time to consider replacing all of them. Especially since you are already conidering a safety upgradem and you're going to be disconnecting them anyway.

I don't really have an opinion on whether a front/rear balance adjustment is needed on a drum/drum system.

Leon

I used one from CCP - most likely very similar. The swap isn't too difficult at all.

I had the "while I'm at it's" and replaced all the lines with stainless lines as well as replacing all the rubber lines.

I had to make two small lines to connect up. I used part of the stainless kit and one small line from my local flaps. A little bending and your done.

The job took me a day, but I don't really hit it hard in the shop. I also made the access hole a little bigger to make it easier as well as use my power bleeder.

Looks very doable. Thanks for the help. Would be a total bummer to have to hack up my original floor mat to have access to the reservoir.

Thanks for the help and pictures

Cletis has a way to fill without hacking a hole. Shoot him a PM and he'll help you out there.
