Running a 350/290hp chevy motor with Griffin rad with Spal fan. Heat from fan seems to be hitting my fire wall and after a while, heat seems to just boil from under dash, yeah it's insulated but not with the real good stuff. It's working my A/C hard as thats where it gets the air to cool me. Over dinner a buddy suggested an "air dam" to suck the hot air out under the car. Will this idea work? Thanks

Results in more air flow thru the rad and back and out below the cab. A plus is better cooling too. I used one from a 75 nova on my bigblock chevelle but you could build one easily.

The bigger it is, the more it will do, though. If it's made of some thick rubber sheet, it won't get damaged by curbs or dead animals!

Cut the long side out of it and with a little triming it fits great. The top lip will hook over the vette sway bar and the bottom of the pan curves. The question is...which way should the bottom curve point, toward the front or back? Should I trim the bottom curve off completely? Total height is about six inches. Thanks

You'll be experimenting with optimum height. IIRC the nova one I used was about 4" high. And kudos to you for doing a little hotrodding and using something it wasn't originally designed for. Don't tell HH. They'll try to market it as an air dam.
