Needin' to know how the dip stick TUBE is removed. It's a 292 straight 6 which has a small indented hole right below the tube ~ possibly house a set screw?? Also, would there be some kind of seal that needs replacement after it's removal? Pre thank you's in order and hope the holidays treated ya' right...

Mine just came right out which leads me to believe that the tube is not fastened. My mechanic told me to use some JB weld to reattach. Not sure this is correct procedure, but he did not mention any seal or fancy technique.

Fish - they're normally a simply press fit - the "indented hole" is from a peening that'll hold the tube in, no set screw - you'll have to moose it out and will likely damage it a bit, although it could be straightend out ... if you don't need it out, leave it
