Driver side bolts to the block just fine, but the passenger side mount lower holes are offset about 1" away from the block.

In a pinch, I have grabbed a stack of flat washers the same height to do the other bolt. Cinched up tight and all seems to be fine. Hoggy if you have an extra one of those spacers I'll take it off your hands for a fair fee. Not sure about '63, but my brackets left and right are slightly different from each other. The difference amounts to the location of the mounting holes. The one on the driver side has to clear the footing on the block that mates to the oil pan, so its holes are quite close to its lower edge compared to the passenger side. As for perches, there is a good web page by a guy named Van, with photos, that really clarifies the different perches. Check it out at http://www.persh.org/pickup/perches.htm This really helped me out when I was trying to switch from a 250 to a 292. He also addresses V-8 conversions.
