Hello all! It's been a while, but I'm back working on my restoration, 1955 1st series DeLuxe cab 3100. The last thing to paint is the cab and doors. I am trying to match my two-tone colors to the factory spec for the interior and exterior. I think the exterior should be painted bombay ivory from the second line beneath the windows/windshield and up, then mariner blue on the bottom. But what about inside of the door frame?

On the inside of the cab including the cab door fram, what should be painted mariner blue and what should be painted bombay ivory?

Tim,

Look at the outside sheet metal and where it ends inside the door frame. The exterior color covers the outside sheet metal right to the point that metal ends inside the door frame.

any pictures of that? I looked at the sales brochure you have on your website and it looks like the inside of the doors are painted Bombay Ivory, is that correct? Is the all of the cab interior painted Bombay Ivory too, except for the top of the dashboard? Maybe someone has a picture of an original 55 1st series two-tone truck? Thanks again.

there is a deluxe cab option that will get you a two toned interior. Are your vent window frames chromed or painted? What about all of the stainless trim around the windshield and side windows? Does your truck have that? I have a picture of where the split is from exterior to interior color but can't find it right now. I will edit this post when I do find it. Tim can help with colors.

I have a 5 window deluxe. yes, the vent window frames are chromed. the trim at the bottom of the inside of the windshield is painted, but the side window garnish is stainless. the exterior windshield stainless was missing when I bought the truck. thanks!

If your vent window frames (The vertical bar that divides the vent window from the roll up window) then my bet is that it would have had the two tone interior. Tim will weigh in on this and let us know if the deluxe cab option (I think RPO 430 and 431) were available with standard color interiors as well as the two tone.

If you are asking about 1955-1st series interior color options, I am not aware of Bombay Ivory being used as an interior color. I think that Pearl Beige was the standard interior color in 1954 regular cab trucks and in all 1955-1st cabs. Pearl Beige was also used in one of the four two-tone interior colors that were available in late 1954, Beige/Maroon(and most likely 1955-1st series). Birch White and Brown were another two-tone interior combination.

Regarding chrome Ventipane frames (and vent window frames), it is only listed with two-tone interiors (with or without two-tone exteriors).

Pure White and Shell White were exterior colors used in 1954/55-1st but Bombay Ivory was the upper two-tone exterior color in late 54/55-1st
