For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2007 Posts: 8 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2007 Posts: 8 | I am thinking about buying a '59 Chevy Viking 60. The parking brake assembly, brake drums, brake shoes, and wheel cylinders are among the list of things that are missing.
Are any of these parts available new? If so, who sells them? | | | | | Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 90 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 90 | I would wait and buy a complete truck. It so much easier to be able to restore stuff than trying to get hold of it..

You'll have to fine a donor for the Drums and E-brake parts. It might be easier to find a complete parts truck...sonething with bad sheet metal could be bought cheat and provide all of the parts you're missing. A 2-ton just sold near me at auction for $700 (cab was junk, but it was a running truck)...take what you need and sell/scrap the rest and you get what you need for a few hundred. Good luck! And yes it was for a 2-ton. He has it all except mayby the drive shaft e brake, if that's what you have there. My Chevy Viking 1959Ulf Hedlund. Eskilstuna. Big truck parts have a tendency to make the old checkbook scream in pain! OLD big truck stuff is even more in that category, because most of them got worn out and sent to scrap. The new and/or reconditioned parts supply dried up due to lack of demand, and unless you find one parked in some farmer's shed, the used parts supply isn't plentiful either. Jerry

Jerry I agree on that, the hydrovac and new master cost med 500 usd. And another 100 for shipping to Sweden. Then I had to pay swedish custom and tax for another 100. But the parts are super !!
