It's a 1950 Chevy 3100 with a '54 235. I've had it for about 14 years. When I was younger, I had a '53. I travelled with my rock band, "Prairie Biscuit," all through Oregon and Idaho during the summer of '76. Just me and my dog and my Coleman lantern in the truck (the rest of the band had a brand new Dodge Tradesman). Had to sell it when I got home. Fast forward to the mid 90's. I convinced my wife to let me buy this truck for $2200. Since then I've converted it to 12 volts; put in a good stereo, but that's about it. It runs well, but has some issues, which I hope to resolve with your help. I just had an electrical problem which I first thought was a fuel problem. Long story short, the problem was just the ignition wire to the coil. I discovered this after I had decided it was the ignition switch and taken it apart and ordered a new switch. Now the new ignition switch is in; the new coil wire is well-connected and I'm on the road again. It's all good, because now I am into working on this truck again, thus my recent membership here. Thanks in advance for your tips and advice!! I've definately got this truck thing in my blood ... my DNA sequence has torque settings"Of all the small nations of this earth, perhaps only the ancient Greeks surpass the Scots in their contribution to mankind" Winston Churchill.
