A 1955-up V-8 bellhousing will bolt up to the 250 block and the original transmission, but the bellhousing crossmember will also need to be changed due to different angles on the mounting surfaces. Up front, some side-mount brackets will need to be installed to match the engine mount pads. The rest of the swap is fairly simple.

| | | | | Joined: Oct 2004 Posts: 348 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2004 Posts: 348 | i am doing the 4th ad truck right now that i have updated with a 250 or 292 motor as stated above use a 54-55.1 bellhousing x member a 1955 and up v8 bellhousing and make a litle plate on the drivers side of the block to bolt on and add your original gas peddle swivel to it. the block is side mount with the drivers side offset to the front to clear the steering box. add a t-5 trans and open drive rear end and you will be a teenager in love again | | |
