| | | | Joined: Apr 2011 Posts: 11 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Apr 2011 Posts: 11 | we have a 1961 stepside apache. we took it off a blazer 4x4 frame which i personally would not have put the truck on. our question is will a 1966 short wheel base frame be a direct replacement for the 0riginal 1961 frame. mainly no moving any frame mounts or having to weld up new mounts.we found a 66 swb frame about a mile from our house. if anyone could give advice on this we would greatly appreciate any and all help. thanks so much! The '66 has coil springs. That aside, I'm sure the cab and box would fit on the frame without too much work. I'm not fluent in these trucks so someone my have a better/different answer than this.
