I bought the bucket set from LMC. No instructions came with it so there is no way of telling which is high and which is low beam. The wire colors are red, yellow and black. I assume the black is the ground.

Measure the resistance. the lower resistance will be higher power and higher resistance lower power.

Sounds like a 12 step program sorta.

Maybe I'm not seeing the problem. Connect each wire to a hot source one at a time and see if it's the bright or dim light that comes on. ohwell

Well that is the other way to do it. After the glare my eyeballs get out of calibration and I cannot see the differance

Well, here's the deal. I wired the truck a couple of years ago but delayed finishing up the headlights, park and turn and the horn until I finished the front sheet-metal. Now I want to wire everything correctly without testing as I go. I guess I could call LMC and ask but they probably don't know.

Jim I did mine the other day when you look as if from the back of the bulb (back of headlight) They have a terminal at 3 oclock 6 oclock and one at 9 oclock. The one at 3oclock black is Ground, the 6 oclock Yellow on mine is low beams and the one at 9 Blue on mine is high beams . Hope that helps

the factory wiring diagrams in shop manuals have color codes right on them, should be able to follow that with any decent repro part, they'll have the colors right

Jim what I actually did with mine as I put a new loom in, was run full power head lights Via relays. I figured you have power going too the high low switch and that swiches between the two so as long as you run off the same terminal too the same terminal on both headlights and you tie the hi beam indicator too the wire going too the from behind 9 oclock terminal you should be good . Link that might help http://www.rallylights.com/hella/HeadlampWiring.aspx

BTW, I think the re-pop buckets have woefully inadequate wire gage
on the headlight pigtails.....
I'll use heavier wire on mine with a relay set up, too.

I know what you mean. I noticed the difference between my wire package wire size and what comes with the bucket. I plan on wiring my own when I finish the rest of the project.
BTW, the buckets are from LMC and the colors represent red/hibeam, yellow/lobeam black/ground.

The high beam is elevated from the low beam. That is another difference to look for.

Yeah we got her figured out. I will be adding heavier gauge wire from the bucket to my harness.
