My 1954 has an 85/86 s10 t5 transmission (1352-145), and a 3.42 4wd s10 blazer rearend with 265/75/15 rear tires. My speedo is around 7mph off or so according to my GPS. What is the best way to determine the correct diven gear for my transmission? Thanks

Is it 7 mph fast or slow, if its slow memory serves me right I went from 15 inch too 16 inch wheels on a Bedford CF Van and it read 6 mph slower than it really was . Mind you we where clocking it with my Triumph Bonneville Speedo and they are accurate as a sundial lol

j54,

Instead of comparing apples top oranges (your changes to someone else's changes), and hoping to find a different driven gear to go with your existing drive gear (if these are even available and/or if they might might work together), why no obtain an adapter and get an exact correction for you set-up?

http://www.speedometershop.com/ratio.html

I took 10 measurements on 10 1-mile stretches of interstate. The Speedometer Shop used those measurements to provide me with an adapter gives me less than a 1% error.
