I've installed a 1962 Chevy 235 in my 1942 3/4 ton pickup. In setting things up, a number of things have convinced me to convert the truck to 12 volts.
Given the water pump conversion issues associated with the 216 to 235 swap (the WP on the 235 sits too low to use the stock 42 fan), I am giving serious thought to just eliminating the stock fan blade and running with electric cooling fan(s) as the sole method of cooling.
Has anyone put electric cooling fans on an Art Deco series truck? If so, which fan did you use (pusher/puller, size, manufacturer, controls, etc.)? Did you also convert to an alternator or can I run these fans off the 12 volt generator?
Any input will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
