I was wondering if anyone knows off hand a replacement bench seat that will fit in the 41-46 trucks? S-10, Datsun, ???? Mine is toast...springs are rusted and breaking everywhere and the mice ate everything except the springs. Just wondering if anyone has done this and how it worked out. Thanks

Try the narrow 2nd row bench seat out of a minivan, or the 3rd row seat out of a Land Cruiser. I know the Land Cruiser 3rd row is close in length.

Someone suggested an older Ford Ranger bench seat would fit my '40. Never got around to checking it out.

I am using a 90's Chrysler minivan 3rd row seat for my 37 Chevy pickup. I am in the process of sorting out how to mount it. Seems to fit pretty well when set in place over riser & gas tank. You definitely have to remove the mounting & wheels from the seat bottom.

I must have looked at 15-20 different seats to use in my 37 Chev pickup and I have never even come close as to how to mount a seat and still be able to access the fuel tank filler under the passenger front seat. Have you figured that out yet?

Joe, for some reason my 37 cab came with a 38 type tank. At some point in it's life, someone modified the riser & also cut a hole in the right side of the cab for the filler tube. I know it's a 37 cab, at least that's what the vin tag says. I'm torn about what to do - should I keep as it was modified, or should I close up the hole & put in a 37 tank. If I keep as is w/38 type tank & filler neck, it should be much easier to mount the minivan seat. I don't think I would be able to figure out how to use this seat if I returned to how it should be.
