Has any of you guys ever used a tillotson carb. I've found a nos Tillotson that says it is for a 41-52 chevy just wondering if they were any good.

Thanks Tony

Tony, if it is the one with the cast iron base; we remove the bases from 2 of them, cut them in half and reweld them to form adapters. The rest of the carb goes into the "round" file.

Jon.

Good carburetion is fuelish hot air
The most expensive carburetor is the wrong one you attempt to modify.

Thanks carb king I'll see what I come up with, I'm always ready for a challenge. How are the bases cut.

Tony - we cut the bases right below the throttle shaft, and then weld two cut bases together to form a "cross-flange" adapter. The cross-flange adapter is useful for adapting a Zenith or Stromberg with the base turned 90 degrees to something else.
