I hate that it was that bad I would have loved to had that truck but at least the parts are being saved. I want to find a truck likr this so keep an eye out and it does not have to be an instant thing either. What did you do with the sleeper cab? That thing is just so cool.
Thanks
Brad

hey again, this time, (and in the future), i read the entries in their entirety. i guess by this time it is painfully obvious that i'm new to most things mechanical, and, i haven't fully learned how to navigate around this site. fortunately, i have thick skin, and being retired, have plenty of time to read. again, congrats on your find. i can't wait to see the sleeper on another big bolt. it would work with an art deco kinda look...........

Chris -- The sleeper was the whole point of rescuing the truck smile So no fear, the Sleeper is safe.

It will be going on a '53 GMC with a 4-53T Detroit/10-speed Road Ranger conversion.

John, Do you plan on using the bigger 450/470 front clip, & axles or the 350 series front clip, & smaller axles.

We'll try the 350 front first, I suspect it's the better choice for the truck. But if the 470 front fenders look and fit the existing axle and wheels better then it will make for a better looking truck. If not then to bad, it's to late to scrounge up a decent 470 frame and come up with a suitable axle...
