Guys: Please check this photos and help me identify the lever action shocks. Are they single of double action? I filled them with kerosene to clean them and they seem to work just to one side. If they're double action, seems I'm screwed. I erased the photo of the third shock from my camera and haven't removed the fourth. I'll try to post then tomorrow. Also, there are the photos of the levers. Two are the same and the third, has a different casting number. The fourth which is not removed yet, is not curved, it is straight. Shall I try to find all levers equal or can I make it work with the four three different types?

Just a curiosity. Looking for the stamped numbers on the shocks (both of them as seen on the photos) in google, seems like the zip code for Dayton Ohio (where the shocks were made (Delco, Dayton El. Co.) is 45430 and 45431. Submitted to you approval, the twilight zone.

What are these shocks on ?? both shock units pictured look like they are for the right-hand side.

If the R on the code means Right, well, yes, I guess both ar right, in fact, the picture I deleted says R also.

Checking the parts manual, the shock stamped number should be 1430-DA-4CG for right front and 1430-CA-4CG for front left, single actions. For double actions 1731-D-2R-G2 front right and 1731-C-2R-G2. So it seems R doesn't necessary means right. I came with the question because, as you can see in the pictures, the stamping has nothing to do with the supposed stampings that the manual shows. It might be from a car or another truck, but that is what I'm trying to figure out. If anyone has some info, greatly appreciated.

I've checked the Apple website before, but didn't pay attention to the page you sent. According to this, I might be looking in the wrong place for the part No. It should be on the caps and not on the body, as the pics show. Right? I'll check tomorrow. Thanks for the lead. I wrote to Apple and they were kind enough to respond on the issue and confirmed that the shocks depicted are double actions. Also he sent me a Delco page where there are the different shock models for trucks up to 1959 (see link). I looked at the cap and there were the model numbers. See pics below. It seems I have two right front shocks and the other two, will appreciate anybody that can identify them, because they dont't figure in the Delco sheet for trucks. The number is 1721V in one and 1729U. If suffixes are as the sheet shows, I guess I do have one left and one right shock, and possibly rear both. Can anyone confirm? Thanks
