lookin to buy a headliner , for a 47 pick up , anybody know ??

ok which vendor is good, havent had to deal with one yet. i have replaced and builted everything on my own , i work in a sheet metal factory, and lased ,bent ,machined , everything to gm specs, which and who is a good vendor , thanks

Many of the vendors sell the same parts.

Many people have had good service/experiences with most of the vendors most of the time. Almost everyone has had a bad experiences with one or more of the vendors. No vendor has proven to be a perfect choice for everyone.

By the way, maybe someone who has bought the part you are looking for will report their experience with that part. That is good "insurance/assurance"; however, the quality of a part from vendors' may change over time because suppliers change their manufacturers (and vendors may change whom they buy parts from).

i replaced the liner in my 6100. i got it from carter. i had to trim some of the edge above the doors and the "A" post to get it to fit the best i could. being fustrated at the time because im a one man band i trimmed off too much above the doors and can live with the mistake since its a work truck. i hear its better to install a liner with another set of hands.

I just replaced the headliner in my '48 half ton today! It's pretty easy, you have to pay attention to the details. i got my headliner from the truck shop in Orange, Ca. They're available online also. the quality of the part is pretty good, I may have installed it a little too much to the drivers' side because I can see the reliefs in the headliner where the screws for the windlace go on the passenger side but, it is no big deal to me. While you're at it, you might want to replace/ install insulation , perfect time to do it. Keenan

One piece aftermarket type...I goofed and double ordered my headliner. I ordered one from Classic Parts and one from Jim Carter. I was surprised they were made from different materials. Jim Carter's is fiberglass while Classic's (comes from Roddoors) is more like ABS and more flexible. I'm not sure which one I'll be using.

I opted for the ABS headliner on my 37. I read where it can be heated and formed to fit better. I have not installed it yet so can't speak from experience. Let me know how it works out for you please.

i bought mine from bowtie bits, and man it was easy, no help, and its so nice new lookin, man i cant beleive i did it after all the horror stories and it was 10 bucks cheap tham LMC n jim carters..............?? mick
