The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area General Truck Talk Engine pans?

Can someone tell me the official name of the pans that go between the engine and the frame ('46 1/2 ton)? Obviously there is one for the driver's side and one for the passenger. On the driver's side the exhaust actually routes thru it. I am missing the one on the passenger side and am not having any luck finding one. I'm thinking I must be using the wrong terminology.

I've got a 1939 3/4 Ton Stake Chevy. It has the pans. There were numerous names for them. You rarely see them on the trucks. They were referred to as Engine Pans, Engine Side Pans, Engine Side Splash Pans, Engine Splash Pans. I sold an extra set last fall. I'm not sure but I believe the right side pan would be very similar from 1939-1946. The drivers side would be different due to the location of the hole for the exhaust pipe. I could take pictures of my right side one, take measurements, and possibly you could manufacture your own. Rick G.

If you mean the sheetmetal that attaches along the inside of the fenders, they come up on ebay pretty regular.

I was going to take the ones off my 46 3/4 ton as I am pulling the engine. I can have a look to see if they are the same if you can copy the drivers side to make one. Murray

I found a good set for my 37 but I heard they put push heat into the cab so I am rethinking my thought of putting them back on.

I don't know what purpose they serve. They do a great job of getting in the way of wrenches!
