So, for the good of the engine I installed one and discovered that my radiator is toast. I also found some coolant leaking into the cab beneath the heater. I have not traced out the electrical of the heater--the fan does work. Here is my question--how do you get to the heater core? I took off some small sheet-metal screws and still the bottom was not totally free.
Lee Beckman | | | | | Joined: Jul 2001 Posts: 3,887 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Jul 2001 Posts: 3,887 | depends on the heater model [3 different possibilities], but you really need to remove the complete heater for a rebuild ... threaded rods sticking out the firewall hold the unit in, remove the hoses and the nuts off those studs and it'll come out
