It was expensive for hobby but since I started to wire my truck and found and thought I needed a good multimeter instead I bought this one it is indespensible. No searching for grounds, 20FT wire allows you to go around the truck and work and you can use cigrate lighter adapter to power the tool and test your accessories and switches.
I like it a lot and when you guys get chance take a look at it. | | | | Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 247 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 247 | Mine has worked well for me. I used it quite a bit working on school buses before I retired. Your imagination is the limiting factor on what you can do with it. It was a good investment. I would probably wind up using it on my jalopies than I would on the trucks I use to make a living. | | | | Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 54 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 54 | I have been looking at the pp 111, the ones I have seen run around $135.00, where did you find yours for $99? | | | | Joined: Oct 2007 Posts: 388 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2007 Posts: 388 | I have been looking at the pp 111, the ones I have seen run around $135.00, where did you find yours for $99? If you want a buzzer for continuity, then splurge and buy the fancy DMM for $19.99, in diode check it beeps, also checks volts, amps, resistance, inductance, capacitance, temperature, and frequency.
Seems like a better use for the buck.

It can used to powerup some accessories and test if they are working or not, I can check if I have short circuit. I was testing my headlight switch out of the truck powering this tool through cigrate lighter adapter. You can plug this tool into cigrate lighter adapter and power up and test any accessories.
I am working on getting my radio working, using my emergency jump starter which has cigrate lighter adapter, I am testing my radio functions in my home withou being in the truck. I dont think, I can do all that with MMMM.
It is just a convenience.

I think that experience makes troubleshooting a lot simpler or us. However, I can see where the Power Probe would be very helpful to a person with limited electronic experience. | | | | Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 247 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 247 | I used mine a lot to test heater motors and lights in the back of a bus. It is a lot easier then trying to get power all the way in the back, also you didn't have to worry about getting a good ground. Jim | | |
