My 46 1 1/2 ton flatbed farm truck currently has one big light hanging off the driver's side rear. It's round, has no lens and is about 7" (est) in diameter. I'm assuming my uncle put it on years ago, since he was a carpenter and it's wired with house wire. (lol)
What came from the factory in 46 when you got a cab and chassis? I realize some vehicles only had one tailight, way back when. Is this the case with my truck?

It would have had one of the small rectangular Factory GM taillights, on the left rear, mounted to the left framerail. Optional accessory "Guide" taillights were available from the dealership.

When I bought my truck it had house wire too.

Check out the accessories page posted on Brads website. The Stop/Taillight pictured would be the one forementioned mounted to the left framerail from the Factory. See it here, http://www.brads41-46chevys.com/id25.html You'll even see a picture further down the page, of an accessory frame extension, that has the taillight, & bracket, that would have been Factory mounted.
