For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 293 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 293 | My Father has a friend with a 55 AD Pickup, that he has lost interest in doing anything with. I'm more involved with the 60's trucks, and am not to familiar with the 55. This is an ex AG Dept truck, 70,000 miles, all original, not rusty, 3 speed. I am not sure if it runs or not. My father is asking me what it is worth. I realize that this is a loaded question, but what is a real rough price range on something like this? It is located in the North West Thank you for your help | | | | | Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 215 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 215 | Where in the northwest? This will give you a realistic figure which can't be done long distance. I've done a 55 first series which is insured for I'm sure in the 30k range and have an unrestored 54 (same cab style as 55.1) that I gave $650 for. That's a difference of over 29 thousand so you see the problem.

Personally, I love the 55.1 series, for the look and the mere fact that it was the last of a great era of trucks. So to me, I have always valued the 55.1 the most. Maybe even more than the first 47's. There is a modified one in my area for 8500, I can see it being close to that with all their mods. But you have an OG truck here (title I am assuming). So to me, if it ran and I had the money, depending on condition I might go 4000. But that is me. I would want to modify it to some degree, to make it an everyday driver. Some would want to restore it and leave it to collect dust. So they might pay more. I have seen running trucks go for 2k and as much as 6-10k asking prices. It all just depends. It doesn't seem like these trucks have a steady value. So I would say you could go from 2000-4000 with out seeing it. But again, that is just me, depends on the seller and depends on how bad you want it. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 4,983 Master Gabster | | Master Gabster Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 4,983 | Worth? It depends if you're the buyer or the seller. Personally I think the 55 through 59 are the best looking trucks Chevy ever made and that includes the 60s.
