There is an old barn that fell down at my place so I've been using the old beams and planking for fire wood. Figured the good ole yellow beast should be up to the task of moving some wood about a hundred and twenty yards to my house. Right now it is parked in front of my front door waiting to be unloaded. I snapped a few pictures:

Truck parked in front of barn

Another picture of the truck full of wood

Another picture a little farther away

You can see the truck parked in fro...e other beaters I got laying around too.

Can't wait for some of the white stuff around here.
You got to work them every once in a while to keep the fluids flowing.
Is that about a 52 Dodge or plymonth in your drive?
Thanks for the pictures>

It is a 50 Dodge Coronet. Probably not going to get to fixing it till spring. It does run and drive but it needs some TLC (don't they all smile ).

Those are great pictures and that is a very cool truck. So now I must ask, is that a 51 Ford parked behind the Dodge?

Nope, it's a 53 Willys Aero. I have been trying to sell it but no one wants a rusted out unibody car even if its 300 bucks. So I've been slowly patching it up.

Wow, that is a rare one. Is it a real unit body?

Missed the chance to play in the snow with 'Tater, she's still sick with a bad regulator & fried jenny. frown But I have chains waitin for her if we have a mess like we did when it dumped on us! grin

I dig all cars, old and new, whether they were hammered out of American iron, German steel, or Japanese tin cans. Being unable to appreciate them all is missing out on a world of great things.
But thats just MY opinion!

Yeah it's a unit body alright. I'll tell you one thing, it sure hasn't made it any easier to fix the thing up.

Regarding the Willys Aero...I didn't know what 'unit-body' meant, so got to looking. Stumbled on this scan of a 1954 Popular Science . They even mention the Willys Aero model. Kinda cool! My '70 Firebird has the 'subframe' up front...so even 15yrs later they couldn't shake the whole 'frame' idea. Is that because the V8 is so heavy? Seems cars now-a-days have this down, though.
