How do I relocate the a/c compressor from the botton of the passenger side of the block so I can use the std sbc block mounting holes for the motor mounts. ???

Most people I have talked to about this use a Corvette serpintine system in order to keep A/C. I'm doing a LT1 swap into my 55 2nd series but using the Camaro setup. I am deleting the A/C. If you use a Corvette setup, you will need the Corvette components (alt, powersteering pump, etc.). I don't believe any Camaro/Caprice accessories crossover. Parts also cost more. You can also buy an aftermarket set up but be prepared to pay big bucks and use other accessories too. Good luck!

Ba Humbug, I think I will leave the compressor where it is, use the std mtr mount on the drivers side, then fab a bracket on the passenger side using the Camaro cast bracket. ? is it ok to mount the engine like that or should I use both the Camaro mounts and just weld both sides to the frame. ??? I found a corvette setup they wanted &750.00 for it----I only paid $500.00 for the engine.......

I don't know about doing an offset mount. I believe the "torque twist" of the engine could cause some premature breakage of mounts (engine and transmission mounts). I think if I were to fabricate anything would try to use both of the LT1 mounts or the traditional mounts. If you can find a picture of it, look at how the Trans Adapt engine mount for a 55-59 truck is set up. Check at Summit or the PAW websites. If you can't find it I can email a picture of how I have mine mounted. If you change the plate that mounts to the engine from traditional to LT1 on both sides it would give you the room you need for the A/C. Exhaust may be an issue though.

The pictures are on the way to you. I wrote a comment on a possible solution using my setup.
