The driver's side door on my '41 pickup is drooping as evidenced by the wear in this photo of the door guide (not sure of the correct name for the part). I'm looking for information or advice on the proper way to adjust door fitment on my truck. Thanks.

I've not seen a '41 but it's lost likely pretty similar to my '38. All door fitment adjustment except one in my '38 is controlled at the hinges. The one not adjusted at the hinges is how far the door closes which is adjusted at the striker. You may have wear issues if the door is drooping. That could be as simple as replacing a hinge pin or as complex as replacing or rebuilding the hinge. Good luck with your project.

My 4t6 is slightly worn like yours. Did you change the pins? That may help. You can also "massage" with a 2x4 and pry and close or push and shove. Hope this helps. Have fun and good luck

Thanks for the replies. The truck is new to me, so I haven't changed or adjusted anything yet. I'm disassembling it for restoration, and today I took the door off. The hinge pins were very tight and didn't show any wear. When I reassemble after painting I'll try to tweak the hinges and see if that helps. Any idea where I could get a replacement part for the one that is worn so badly? I don't see that part in any of the catalogs. The passenger door, by the way, is just fine.

it'd be a really good idea to get that door working right before you do any painting, unless you think painting it twice would be fun there should be slight adjustment of the door via shifting the hinge bolts a bit, both on the pillar and in the door

pretty sure you won't find the dovetail reproduced, have to find a good used one, maybe in the parts wanted here, and for a temporary fix, build that one back to shape with braze
