GM used to send you the Resto-Pac for nothing then the last few years they started charging. I hadn’t heard that they had been planning this. The Heritage Center has for years been off limits for the public, they must be trying to boost their public image. Thanks for the link Durwood and welcome aboard. DG

I'm printing out the resto-pac for my new '54 as I type and downloading as much as I can before GM starts to show a profit and the bean counters decide to start charging again. Like I said, I got the resto-pac for my '50 back about five years ago, they sent me one hard copy. But it's nice now to have a pdf file that I can put on all 25 of my computers and have access from any room in the house, barn or while I'm driving. Denny Graham Sandwich, IL

As people posted above, that was/is the most useful information that GM sends with the $50 Restoration Package. Some observations: 1. In some of the Specifications booklets there are pages missing - sadly, they are the same missing pages as in Keith Hardy's website (not surprising). See 1959, for example. 2. In some of the booklets there is/are Table of Contents and/or an index at the end. However, in some years, the truck table of contents (index?) is in the passenger car booklet for the same year. I'll be printing out the table of contents for each year, to help locate things more quickly. | | | | Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 293 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 293 | OK, I'll be the dumb one. I go into this link, show trucks, click on 62 Suburban, and nothing. Is there something else that I am missing, or does it take a really long time to load up?

This is real handy if you happen to be putting together parts from different years or models. Now I can pick and choose pages from the appropriate year for the engine , tranny, suspension, etc.. I ordered a 2nd hard copy for my '48 a while back and it looked like they were making copies of copies. The 2nd copy wasn't so hot. I scanned the drawing of my '48 and Photo Shopped it to look like this. Future look of my '48. - 1948 3/4-Ton 5-Window Flatbed Chevrolet 33 Years. Now with a '61 261, 848 head, Rochester Monojet carb, SM420 4-speed, 4.10 rear, dual reservoir MC, Bendix up front, 235/85R16 tires, 12-volt w/alternator, electric wipers and a modern radio in the glove box.
