I plan to paint my interior this winter. PO painted interior flat black, so I don't have experience driving the truck with the stock paint color.
Since my seats are black vinyl, as well as the gauge clusters in the Camaro dash in my truck, I have the option of leaving the top of the dash flat black, or making a cloth dash cover (dash covers are popular here in Colorado, the sun is quite intense up here).
Oh, I don't plan on doing the window tint deal either.
Any advise is sincerely appreciated!

Mine was sprayed with base coat urethane and has no shine. I have never noticed a difference between the two or any glare, at all, for that matter. | | | | Joined: Mar 2001 Posts: 1,181 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2001 Posts: 1,181 | I'm exactly at that stage now, we are mixing the dark gray NON-metalic dash top color this week. IN GMC trucks the top of the dash was called Charcoal Grey.

The Flat Black seemed convenient, but I never remember any problems with any of them. I drove '60 to '66 Chev/GMC trucks continuously for over 25 years.

I never understood how these two colors could have the same base name and be so dramatically different?

WHoich by the way we'll be mxing this week end as we got the silver down PAT! | | | | Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 32 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 32 | I think both brands used the silver/charcoal combination for 1960-1961. They switched to the goldish Fawn color for 1962. 1962 GMC's even had the top of the dash painted to match the seat upholstery on Custom cabs. From then on it's all that goldish Fawn except for the dash on 1966 Chevy's. Then there's the occasional use of white accents on some of the steering columns and door panels. Then again most of these trucks have been repainted or had so many parts swapped it's hard to tell! | | |
