I purchased this truck 17 years ago thinking I would have a good driver in a few months. Years later it is almost done and I want to drive it. I tore it down to the rails and rebuilt or replaced everything that needed attention. The truck was originally a pickup with a 9 foot box but it was owned by a lumber company who for whatever reason took the box off and made it into a flat bed. It had a 235 engine I believe but it was shot and I decided to replace it with a newer (1966) 250. My son and daughter helped me for many hours on the rebuild. My son went off to Iraq and I stopped work on the truck and it has been sitting since. It originally had 17.5 tires with split rims and no one would touch them around here so I went with a newer 15 inch Goodyear Work Horse tires all around. I did a lot of the body work myself but had a lot of it redone by a body shop when I had it painted. I was able to find the old box parts and rear fenders but the box parts were trash (why they made it a flat bed) but the fenders were pretty decent. I am a wood worker so I made the box out of red oak and butternut raised panels. I had hoped to drive it in a Fourth Of July Parade today but couldn't quite get it out of the garage just yet. Pictures will be along as soon as I figure that function out. Hopefully faster than I have been working on this truck.

NICE. Its great to see Bolters bring out the talent in them. What a neat idea and one that is YOUR design. I know that will get lots of looks and conversation. Well done.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

Rich, Thank you. It would be nicely done if I could just drive it. One of these days I will have the minor problems worked out and get he on the road. I live outside of Duluth.
