For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2009 Posts: 22 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Nov 2009 Posts: 22 | I have a 54 chevy truck and would like replace current nonfunctioning engine with a 350. Can someone tell me where to find the engine mounts and what manual transmission/transmission mounts will work best? I understand I will need a new drive shaft and rear end but I will worry about that later.
Thanks for any and all help. Bob

No offense intended, just like the old I6 engines and wondered if you had thought about keeping the 6 banger. 350's are great....love mine in other vehicles, but not my old trucks.

The location of the steering box on a AD truck can make it a challenge. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2009 Posts: 22 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Nov 2009 Posts: 22 | Thank you. I will give them a look. I appreciate it. Bob | | | | | Joined: Nov 2009 Posts: 22 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Nov 2009 Posts: 22 | Good question. The original engine is long gone. Previous owner put in a 283 but engine mounts are crooked, does not align with fan, too much weight on tranny bell housing. Cylinders are scored...a real mess. Am starting from scratch.
Thank you.
