I know we have discussed this before, but having some trouble finding the source.
I am trying to find a new source for the interior paint in a rattle can (for some touch up). Have the color code, but the source used previously is no longer in business. Auto color library confirms color.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Hambone, i live in Santa Rosa, Ca and there is a paint store called Hawley's Paint store inc. they are located on Santa Rosa ave. and i recently found out that they will put paint into spray cans their number is (707) 545-1711. i don't know if they ship their paint but i don't see why they wouldn't.

Tog is right. And wrong. Shipping bombs will not fly. Sorry! But out east here in the land of the somewhat free, many places will color match your sample and make a can of spray paint for about 14 bucks or so. It's a lot easier than hunting down codes that don't cross reference anymore. If your truck runs, they can come out in the parking lot with the scanner.

Here is the information we have been using for the 4-5-6 Chevy truck interiors:

Med. Fawn 60% gloss DuPont 9171-L, Ditzler DL-22571, Rinshed-Mason 65B84

Dark Fawn Zero Gloss Du Pont 9202-L, Ditz. DIA 22568

Light Fawn? 60% Du Pont 9170-L Ditz. DL22569
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Medium Saddle 60% Du Pont 4626-L Ditz. DL-22570 Rinshed-Mason 65B83

Dark Saddle Zero Gloss Du Pont 9199-L Ditz. DIA-13010

The Saddles are from '65, all Fawns are same '65 and '66.

So far as I know if you have a sample of ANY color it can be matched with the color scanner. It scans the sample and gins up a formula for that paint in a particular brand of paint. Usually the top brand handled by the jobber.
I would recommend getting acrylic enamel in most all cases (except for the 100% gotta have traditional paint guys) because it's so easy to use; you can add hardener to it, and it's great paint.
Spray cans; I have mixed feelings about them. In the USAF we called them "Spray Bombs", they don't put out much paint, getting decent film build is a real pain in the neck.
Remember paint life is directly related to how thick (milage) the paint is.
Most car painters might put down 3 or 4 mils with a spray gun in 2 to 4 coats maybe more, spray cans; well that would take the whole can and besides spray can painting is really expensive per mil/sq. foot.

My brother took in his glove box door to Auto Industrial paints and they matched the fawn color and put it into 2 spray cans for him. Matched perfectly. About 17$ a can.
