I realize that this is a little bit different than most window questions asked here but hopefully, someone may be able to help me out with my problem.
Maybe not technically a "Stovebolt" but stll GM.

Moe Stone, whos truck is linked to in the first post had the same problem I am having finding the rubber for the vent window on these GMC 860's.

No one carries the replacement rubber for these windows. Moe told me that he had to purchase rubber for 55-57 chevy car vents and cut them to fit.
When I bought my truck, it came with lots of parts in the deal. The po bought vent window to fit "51-55 1st series truck vent window" rubber which is shown in the pictures too.They aren't long enough to begin with so I would have to purchase an additional set if I was to attempt to cut and glue to fit. Also in question is the groove that this rubber is supposed to go in looks much narrower than the rubber piece that I have

Does anyone have any suggestions, options?
I have spoken to Restoration Specialties and they did not have any answers for me.
Any help would be appreciated.

Well, it just goes to show that you can't always go by just what you read on a website. I had looked at the Steele Rubber for site for my hard to find vent window rubber and there was none listed. I posted my problem on the ATHS site and was advised to call them with my needs. Sure enough, they had vent window rubber for a 1959 GMC 860. Seems as though someone had a good set of originals that was looking for replacements and so they made a mold. I ordered a set and I should have them by Monday.
I told Hank from Steele, when he told me that he had them, that I felt I like I had hit the lottery! After all, this was reportedly the Holy Grail item on the truck.

I second the motion Steele makes a giant contribution to keepin the old iron working .... sometime ago I lucked on a set of NOS TF panel barn doors that had pretty good rubber seals [early dealer take offs I think] and I asked Steele if they'd repro them, they immediately agreed and supplied me an excellent set and now list them in their catalog .... any time there's something you need you don't see listed, call and inquire, it seems to take quite awhile for new parts to hit the catalog
