Are the 22.5 tubeless wheels that came out starting about 1955 still around? Are they hard to find? I am going to replace the wheels on my '58 2 ton with 22.5 tubeless wheels and I am trying to figure my options. Also, could I use either 9R22.5 or 10R22.5 tires all the way around?

Harry, I have a '66 C50 and just put 6 Firestone 10R22.5 tires on it. They look and fit great.

I bet you'll be able to find wheels pretty easily, they are readily available up here in New England.

The tubeless tires were first offered by Chevrolet in '56.

Few things to consider...

First off, what's your bolt pattern? I'll assume 6 lug Budd stud centered??

Second, tire size depends on what width wheels you have, and there are different wheel widths available.

For a lot of info check out our wheel and tire tech tip, not all of it covers your wheels, but still a lot of info will be helpful.
You'll find the most helpful info in the Accuride Wheel catalog, linked in the tip. In it you'll find the part number for new 6 lug Budd 22.5" wheels, as well as recommended tire sizes for given wheel widths (page 39).

Used wheels are also easy to find, and can be much cheaper than new even after blasting and powder coating.

Thanks for all the good info. I have put an ad in the "wanted" section. Yes Grigg the wheels are 6-lug stud piloted wheels all the way around.

I know a guy in Ohio that has a set of six for sale. Like you said, 6 lug x 8.75" pattern 22.5" tubeless. I'll have him drop by here if you want to know more about them, price, etc. Stu McMillan
