39 GMC is a bit confusing. GMC went to the wider bed in 39 chevy didnt untill 40. And I think most were steel bed floor but I could be wrong. When I ordered up a new bed for mine I ordered a 40 chev and it was a perfect fit. Cant get to mine to measure it but its the same as a 40 chev.

I have a 1939 GMC AC-102 1/2 Ton Long Bed. The inside measurement of the bed width is 48.5". Hope this helps

I have a 39 GMC 1 1/2 ton with a 9 foot bed. the bed looks like a regular truck bed with really large fenders.i did'nt know if it was the same with as a 1/2 ton or not.i'm looking to purchase a tailgate and was hoping it was as 1/2 ton. also bed does have steel floor .thanks for the info . texman
