Have any of you all used the SSBC kit for front disc brakes.? Any problems with brackets? Just got the kit and wondering if is easy as they say?.I'm also installing the needle bearing king pin kit.
I'm working on a1948 GMC 1/2 ton Panel.

What a coincidence. I too am planning on one of these kits for my '48, and was going to ask the same question.

I put the CPP 5 on 4-3/4 (to match the 10 bolt rearend) lug kit on my '48 and the only problem I had was the brake lines were too short. I had to extend the factory bracket so it wouldn't pinch closed the hoses when turned stop to stop.

I had a shop install my king pins. I saw what had to be done and knew I didn't have enough heat or big enough hammer to remove the 60 year old parts.... It only cost me $65. and it was worth every penny of it.

My experience with CPP wasn't quite so pleasant.

1. The aluminum spacer holes did not align with the hub from the front brakes causing misalignment and runout in the front wheels.

2. The brake actuator rod on the Power Brake Booster #4754BB is too long.

3. The Master Cylinder bracket is not correct for this vehicle. It hits the cross member and must be modified to mount securely.

4. Both the master cylinder and proportioning valve leaked around the plugs that were already installed.

5. Both rotors were warped and had to be turned.

I wrote all of this in a letter to them and have yet to receive the courtesy of a response. Buyer beware.

I don't have mine on the road yet but hopefully they will turn our ok.
CPP is suppose to have lifetime warr. so make sure they live up to it!

Thanks everyone. I'll keep you posted on the fit and any issues. Is anybody running a panhard rod on the front? I been driving the Panel for several years and going into corners at a certain spot it seem to dip. The spring shop told me to build a panhard rod . I have a panhrad on the back of my 23 T Bucket, but it has a hairpin with coil spring mount. Just woundering?
