I have a '36 207 with a frozen heat riser. It is in the horizontal position with some of the flapper rusted and gone. How important is this piece to proper engine function, and could I do without it since I can't find ANY replacement parts??

If you start & drive in cold wheather you need it. If you just drive in warm weather you can get by without it but it helps gas mileage & cold driveability.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

Hey Footbiz, I might have an intake exhaust assembly for a 206.5 1936 Chevrolet motor.

If you can get a replacement it would be good .

GM put the thing in there to help the engine and it does.

Nice offer 55 1st.....

The heat riser on my 38 216 is rusted open. It doesn't seem to make a lot of difference that I can tell. I tried to free it up when I had the head off but it wouldn't budge & I was scared to abuse it too much trying to free it up.
