I've heard "don't stick another Rochester back on there", and I've heard "just throw a kit in the Rochester"... which would be your opinion?

The stock carb leaks outta every orifice... I'm not worried about appearing stock or being period correct. What would you replace it with? What have you had the most/least luck with?

IMO there are two choices, Rochester Monojet from a 68 or later six, or Stovebolts Holley/Weber kit. The Holley/Weber being the better choice.

I'm running a '70 Monojet on my 292. I have no complaints.

I had always ran the original Rochester on my '64 292. Was a great carb all the way around and I got real good mileage with it for some reason. I also sure do miss my Manual Chokes on my '72's today that my older trucks had.
