For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2008 Posts: 210 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2008 Posts: 210 | My truck body parts are currently in the shop for body work. The plan is to get all the body done and primed, then assemble for test fitting, disassemble and send out for paint.
As a bare minimum, what do I need as far as mounting hardware for the reassembly/test fit stage? I'm sure I do not need every single bolt but I want to ensure I have enough to be positive on the fit.

My body guy had to cut one of my fenders and splice a piece in so that the grill fit properly. Other than this the only other place to check closely is the fit between the fenders and the running boards. The rest is mostly fenders against a flat pannel ie. bed side and side of cowel. I don't know how much you took off your cab but if you removed your door hinges you may have to readjust the doors. The Art Deco truck door aren't like the later models. The hinges have no adjustments in them. It's all done with a 2x4 and tweeking the doors. Let me know if you need instructions for this and I'll email you a pdf. Harold Is a restoration ever finished? | | | | | Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 118 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 118 | Bill, Howdy i was looking at those bolt kits that you mentioned and i have a couple of questions. Are the bolts in the kit somewhat labled for which part of the vehicle they go to, such as like fender or grill, or bed etc.? Also i was looking at the kits and some mentioned "button/flat socket head" or "indented hex head", um could you maybe explain what the difference is. Ive never heard of "button". Thanks
