I pulled my oil pan to repair stripped threads for the oil drain bolt.

I found a heavy screen folded and shoved into the oil intake, it looks like there are holes for a factory screen.

What am I missing?

Here is the illustration from the Master Parts Catalog. I think that I've seen the screen in one of the vintage parts catalogs. Or on ebay, or?

I don't quite understand the shape pof the spring in the diagram. My spring goes from one side, up over the screen and back down the other side. The two holes in the photo are where the spring ends fit in. So you need the screen and the spring.

i saw this post earlier today but didn't have time to take a pic of the screen assembly (since the pan is currently off of my 216). should have known you would have one in the library already.

Thanks, boy that truck is turning out to be way more than I hoped for. But that's a story for some other time. I'm sure you'll be hearing way more than you want to by the time I'm finished with it.
