I have a '48 Chevy 1/2 ton p.u. I actually have 2 good working turn signal switches (chrome Yankee Turnflex and black Signal-Stat 900), both 7-wire, that I can use. All lights work around the truck as they should. However, on each switch the indicator lights on the faceplate will not work. When tested, each will light up. What's happening here?

The pilot light on the unit is lit by the "P" terminal of a 3 prong flasher. That terminal could be burned out.

This is good advice. The 3-pronged flasher is relatively new--what would cause it to be burned out? Also, any thoughts as to where the ground problem could be?

The switch housing has to be grounded to the column.

It was the #$@%& turn signal flasher "P" prong! Found a 6v flasher @ local CarQuest Automotive and all is well now! Got to love problem-solving the electrical problems. Thanks for all the help guys!
