I have a 1949 216 3100 truck engine. I am not sure whether or not it has the correct oil dipstick tube installed in the right side of the block, and unsure if the dipstick is the correct length, therefore I am not sure of the correct oil quantity (level) in the oil pan. Can someone provide the following measurements?
1. The dipstick tube length from the point were it enters the block and the top of the tube opening.
2. The actual dipstick length from the bottom tip to the "stop" located on the dipstick blade. Please send to [email protected]
Thanks in advance

Will,

Some of the information that you want is in the Master Parts Catalog. The tube extends about an inch into the block. There was another thread recently on dipsticks and tubes; can't recall if it was for your engine or not.
