Am I totally bogus or is there no way to get pricing from the on-line catalogs and/or place parts orders using the Jim Carter website????? I figured I'd ask here rather than call them and suffer the wrath and condemnation of someone on the phone. Board members are so much more understanding. Help, please.

I believe if you click on the item it will give you the price in the shopping cart. Kind of inconvenient, but that is the way it is.

When you click on the "each" it puts it into an order form with the price

Hey Arch,

You're not totally bogus.

If you're lookin for the price of an item,

Click on the catalog of your choice,
then at the top of that screen, click on the red cart,
at the bottom left of the next screen is quick cart,
enter the part number and click the quick cart button,
the price is listed there.

Also, no need to worry, you will not "suffer the wrath and condemnation",
because Mr. Carter is very nice and understanding, too.

A new Jim Carter web cart is just around the corner. The catalog style cart is in its last few days.

Be aware of the quoted price. Check your invoice when you get the items. When I first started I made a a rather large order. One of the items I ordered was an upper mast bearing with horn wire listed at 35 bucks. When I got the order it was billed at over 70 dollars. I call and was told by the (lady)that passed for customer no service, that was the price and tough. Had I not ruined the original. I would have ripped that repro part out and sent it back. And like I told her I am going to spend a lot of cash on my truck, but I won't spend another penny with JC. In the intrest of being fair, it seems my experience is in the minority. With the exception of a few it seems everybody else has had very positive dealings with Jim Carter. Yes you have to go to check out to see the price of an item. You do not have to check out to view the shopping cart. It is just a poorly designed shopping cart system. Like a lot of revamped sites, It makes the site less user friendly.

...sorry your turn was so sour Jimmie. I'm one of the positive ones for over 15 years now. Had a bump or two along the way but it all got sorted out satisfactory. Had dealings with others over the years..some of those bumpy to ever now and then.
I usually give a resturant a second chance maybe you can see you way to do that with them?

Not to speak for Jimmy, but if a restaurant charged me double of what was printed on the menu then refused to refund, I doubt I'd go back!! smile

I like Jim Carter and have had good experiences.

Take the time to look at the items on the receipt. Unpack your stuff and see if you got everything, match the contents up with the receipt. If what you thought was the price but is different - you can always ask the question why. Or take it back and get a refund. My wife taught me this on grocery shopping.

Just a suggestion for those who are grumpy or have the tendency to blame everything on others.

I had this same situation with Jim Carter a while back. My order came in and the parts were higher than on the website. I spoke with Mike and they took care of the problem and refunded me the difference. Very professional on their end and I have not had any further problems since.

I have purchased a considerable amount and variety of parts from Jim Carter. I have never had a problem that they were not willing to solve to my complete satisfaction.

Jimmie D, was the price an on-line price that changed from order-time to invoice-time, or was the price a price out of an out-of-date catalog?
