Hung my front sheetmetal today and noticed that the fender brace rod will hit the carb. Anyone else dealt with this problem successfully?

Thanks Marty... I got the photo. That was my first idea but I thought there may be too much flex in the bend. I also considered moving the bracket that attaches to the fender back one bolt to keep the rod straight, but I'd have to make some measurements to get the correct length.

I wonder how many guys have just left it off... ohwell

I know it's not your truck, but it is an original 37 GMC.
You could easily duplicate the idea to suit your truck, and even tell folks that's how GM did it....
