I got some numbers off my truck and was wondering if anybody had any books to tell me more about what I have.

1967 GMC
VIN TE 9700AH D2025H
GVW 31,000

Body info;
American Fire Apparatus
s/n 2951-8-67
Battle Creek, Mi.

Pump;
Barton-American Fire Pump
Type DMF500
Gear Ratio 1.81-2.24
s/n A5490

Ladder;
Grove Aerial Ladder
Model 3S-65 (I know this means three sections and 65 ft. long)
s/n 2071-66

Does anyone know if there are shop manuals available for this equipment?

Thanks
Don

I would try to contact the companies barton, grove, so on and see if they can help you, or check ebay for manuals or sales stuff.

Don,

Could your pump be a DMA-500 by chance?

Barton/American pumps became American Pump Company and later American/Godiva and then in the late 80s purchased by the IDEX/Hale stable. Contact Hale and see if they have archival info on the Barton pump. - Bob
