The red one came on a 1959 261 it may or may not be correct for that year. But that's ok, my concern is the chromed oil pan. I would like to know what year the chromed one was made for. I bought it as NOS and the only thing that the box said was "Group No. .462" that might have read #1.462 but the edge was torn off. Also is does say that the "Oil Pan Assy. part No. is #3756603. But it does not state for what size or what year it was for. I was hopeing that someone may have a Chevy Parts book that has this number listed in it that would tell what year it is. The pan does bolt up to my 1959 261 block, but if I knew what year it was then I could find out what the correct oil pick up tube that is needed for that pan.
I may have to just guess at it. (??)
There was some good information about oil pans and pickup tubes in an article at 'Webrodder.com' that may have helped, but that article seems to have now been taken off the internet.
