What is the quickest, safest and most dependable way to add power brakes to a non anything 65 c-10 ?
I've already gathered up all the parts for power steering and disc brakes but have nothing for the power brake system yet.
The donor truck for the above changes was non power brakes.
Thanks for your time., George Hood

Hmmm... I wish I could help you on the brakes issue but I haven't got that far along on mine yet. I would be interested in hearing your thoughts about the power steering... have you already added PS?

Power brakes were an option. There are a lot of after market companies selling power brake booters for our 60s trucks. The differences are the newer boosters are dual masters and have the proportioning valve. They don't have the OEM bracket that goes between the firewall and booster. The bracket angles the booster towards the fender for more clearence. You may not need the bracket, some of the after market booster have a smaller diameter. There is a bracket in the for sale forum. grin

How much did the change to power brakes help ? I have a 66 and the standard brakes are quite scary. If power brakes help any it would be worth it.

ask for a booster for a 1973 c10 with a 350.the bolt at the pedal on my 64 was 9/16".the 1973 pushrod hole was 1/2". had to drill it larger.the 1973 bolt may have fit but i didn't have it.i drilled a hole lower on the pedal to line up better, very easy.

Just curious, but where do I hook up the vacuum line for my booster to my 230? I had seen someone mention that there is a port between the 2nd and 3rd cylinders, and another had said something about the intake manifold (can't find the thread again, even with search) but I can't see what they are speaking of, and I kinda need pictures. I don't wanna go pulling anything open on that motor that I don't know about, you know?

Should be a plug about dead center of the side of the intake, just below the carb. It is a simple square headed pipe plug, remove it & install a hose nipple. Brian
