Folks -

Do any of you know if dual tanks were an option on 47 1 tons? Our tank is mounted inside the frame rails with the filler on the passenger side. Inside the cab is a brass fuel valve marked "On, Res, and Off". Currently there is only one fuel tank on the truck. On the drivers side, it looks like the bed has a slight relief in the driver's corner for another filler neck.

I know that this could have been done as an aftermarket addition - but did they offer this as a factory or dealer option?

Don't know if I want to add a second tank - don't really need one, but just wondering/wandering as we inspect the newest member of our family.

We're thinking about naming her "Bertha". I love the GD song, even tho' the lyrics may not be that complementary.....

I have not heard of a dual fuel tank option for an AD truck, but that's not saying there wasn't one...

I wonder if this is one fuel tank with two pickups at differnet depths? Like many motorcycles have?

Nah - I thought of that too.... There's some "abandoned" plumbing on the drivers side, so I'm pretty sure it was set up for two tanks rather than one with a reserve.

my 1952 1 ton has two tanks Canadian factory installed. it is a 9430 model. the passenger side tank has two fillers on opposite sides. the filler in the center of the truck is just blocked off. the one on the drivers side has just one filler facing to the outside of the truck. i have two filler lines one on each side of the truck.
