I've looked around the forums but can't find production figures for my truck. She's a '49 6400. Also how many wheelbase lengths were offered? I also have noticed that surely 50 percent of these big bolts were painted that dark green color.

The dark green is the standard color and most the trucks are painted that color. And its not just the big bolts, its all the big GM trucks.

Most of GM's records where lost 50 years ago, but even then much of what you want to know was not kept. It wasn't like today when every detail is stored away in a computer.

You'll find model number and wheelbase length in the Restoration Packs.

If you are serious about restoration data you'll want to become familiar with these pages.

In 1950 about 13% of Chevrolet truck productions was 6400 series. About 16% were 6xxx series 2-ton trucks. 6403 (chassis and cab) was 10% of total truck production.
